Don't you just hate it when people use your art without your permission? No matter how many times you post

your deviations still make their way onto random websites and even onto printed materials and games, THEN DON'T DO IT!
There are hypocrites out there (I won't give names because they can still correct it) who protect their own art fearlessly with the help of their little army of white nights alerting them where else they have seen the art posted without permission and even jumping to report and/or attack the wrong-doer, which is all fine and dandy, until they themselves commit the same sin! YES, IT'S STILL THEFT EVEN IF YOU DO IT
No, it's not ok to post someone else's art and passing it as your own, even if you have circumstances!
What, because you have good art that gives you the right to post other people's good art without credit? Is this like "oh, I could have drawn that myself so no credit for you" kind of thing? Well if you could have then go do it! If you don't want to give credit then just don't use the art, it's that simple!
"Don't you want those drawings to see the light of day?"
Their reply when I confronted them? "Don't you want those drawings to see the light of day?"
They already saw the light of day! As my work! This is worse then "please draw me something in return for exposure" because this is "exposure" of the drawing itself without any exposure to me! What kind of exposure is that? It only gives more exposure to you! And they didn't even apologize
, not once, not even a little bit, not even a lousy "oups"
Oh, did I mention that they credit everybody else? Yea, when it's some other artist they always give proper credit (to my knowledge). But they always seem to appropriate or ignore my contribution. If you know how to give credit then don't use preferential treatment
, just give credit where credit is due.
This is not the whole story but to protect their identity I have left a few things out (yup, if you're reading this, hold your tomato throwing so you can still walk out squeaky clean).
What do you guys think? Have you ever dealt with people preaching something but then somehow feeling exempt from following it themselves? You know, holding you to the highest of standards but then going around and doing whatever the heck they felt like?
